HPMA Names 2025 Community Impact Award Recipient

HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept 29, 2025 – The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) names Triad-based Pepper Moon Catering as its 2025 High Point Market Community Impact Award recipient in a presentation ceremony at 4310 Regency Drive, on Thursday, Oct. 2. at 4pm.

Pepper Moon Catering is recognized by HPMA for its role in creating welcoming experiences for the biannual trade show’s multitude of exhibitors, buyers and guests, while providing its hospitality service to a wide variety of High Point Market industry and showroom events over three decades.

Since 1996, Pepper Moon Catering has served up tasty hors d’oeuvres, meals and homemade desserts, often arranged in displays intended to appeal to the design-minded attendees at Market.

“Over the years, Pepper Moon Catering has been an important part of High Point Market, whether it’s consulting on a showroom kitchen layout, offering the best food to fit a company's aesthetic, or staying late when buyers are still walking the floor, ” says Tammy Covington, HPMA president and CEO. “They truly possess a partnership mentality, which is demonstrated by their long list of Market customers who make the call to Pepper Moon every April and October.”

As an award recipient, Pepper Moon Catering will receive a commemorative, stainless steel sculpture crafted by local artisan Justin Stabb, to display at the catering company’s new High Point location in the Piedmont Centre Business Park. HPMA commissioned the five-foot-tall artwork to represent how High Point Market is connected to its host city.

“High Point Market isn’t just an event; it’s a community we’re proud to serve,” says Joe Staehly, Pepper Moon Catering CEO. “This award reflects the relationships we’ve built and the memories we’ve been honored to help create for exhibitors, buyers and guests from around the world.”

“In our minds, we don’t sell catering during Spring and Fall Markets, we sell furniture,” says Meredith Williams, Pepper Moon Catering COO. “We partner with manufacturers and organizations to help them meet their mission; we listen to their goals, learn who their customers are, and use our 30 years of experience to bring value to the entertaining dollars our clients invest in making their buyers have an exceptional High Point experience, resulting in more orders being written. It’s not just about bringing food and labor; Pepper Moon brings years of knowledge and expertise.”

The biannual home furnishings trade events, held each April and October, draw up to 75,000 domestic and international visitors to High Point Market seasonally, which contributes approximately $202 million in local tax revenue annually. In 2024, professional printing company FASTSIGNS of High Point received the honor.
