Registration Now Open for Spring 2021 High Point Market

HIGH POINT, N.C., February 23, 2021 — Registration for the Spring 2021 High Point Market is now open for home furnishings buyers, international buyers, exhibitors, trade/industry, press, and students. Scheduled for June 5-9, interested attendees can register online at www.highpointmarket.org/register. Originally scheduled for April, the new Spring Market dates for June were announced this past December in anticipation of an improving pandemic situation, vaccine availability, and less travel restrictions, in addition to an improving supply chain situation, which has greatly impacted the industry for the past several months. Spring Market also ushers in a return to the typical 5-day schedule, Saturday through Wednesday, for the trade show. The Fall 2020 Market was expanded this past October to 9 days as a safety measure, but that will not be repeated. With the exception of additional days, the High Point Market Authority anticipates a return of all safety measures that were in place this past fall. The #HPMKTsafe Initiative for spring 2021 includes mandatory face coverings, reduced capacity restrictions, daily health checks, and a number of other precautions. High Point Market Exhibitors Explore Off-Market Buying Opportunities

HIGH POINT, N.C., November 23, 2020 — The ongoing shifts and disruptions from COVID-19 are creating new opportunities for exhibitors to connect with buyers via their High Point showrooms. For approximately 100 High Point Market exhibitors, their adaptive strategies include exploring off-Market times for buyer appointments within their High Point spaces. “High Point Market is where the industry comes together, but given this current COVID-era, it’s not surprising we’re seeing an increase in exhibitors embracing showroom traffic outside of the typical April and October dates,” commented Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “Our role at the Market Authority is to support the buy/sell relationship between manufacturers and buyers here in High Point. Given that COVID-19 has pushed us all to adapt, we are open to High Point-focused initiatives that are working alongside us to further cement High Point as a design destination and vital resource for the industry.” Three groups recently announced upcoming opportunities for qualified buyers to shop in High Point this December. The High Point Showroom Association has been offering year-round access to their member companies for the past 30-plus years. Their Designer Holiday Market event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, in their 38 showrooms.

High Point Market Exhibitors Pleased with Order Writing, Fall Market Overall

HIGH POINT, N.C., October 22, 2020 — The one and only High Point Market of 2020 concluded on October 21, wrapping up a 9-day expanded Market that was executed with a multitude of safety measures in light of the ongoing pandemic. Despite the noticeable differences, Fall Market exhibitors are exuding optimism and reporting strong order writing from the show. “By Tuesday, October 20, the Oly flagship had generated 56% visitor traffic compared to Fall 2019. That said, order revenue exceeded Fall 2019 results already by Saturday,” said Frank Leyon, Director of Global Sales for Oly Studio. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of client traffic. Being open and ready assured clients that their business is important to us and proved that they can be appropriately and efficiently supported during an otherwise unique and challenging business year.” Several other exhibitors echoed the sentiment. “Traffic-wise, there were peaks and lulls. Those who came were serious buyers. We opened a lot of new accounts and will be very busy after the show,” shared co-founders of South + English, Palmer Smith and David Ebbetts.
