Made in Italy

New furnishings from the OG

Perhaps no single country has been more successful branding its design and craft legacy than Italy, which sought a trademark in 1980 for the Made in Italy label - or celebrating the culture’s distinctive fashion, food, cars, and yes, furnishings.

Making their U.S. debut, Fiam Italia located in the Leif Petersen showroom, is set to export contemporary and modern furniture with the force of its impressive designer roster, which includes Palomba Serafini, Simone Boannani and Mac Stopa. One collection of glass tables by Stopa, called LAKES, points to the innovative interpretation of a common – and endlessly recyclable – material.

Sleek, modern and functional are apt words to describe a diverse offering in the dining room category from Midj in Italy. Surprising table shapes are balanced with slim profile chairs and the forward-looking expression of materials. The Pippi chair collection designed by Roberto Paoli, for example, incorporates a bi-elastic fabric to envelope each chair’s steel frame.

MaxDivani relocates its showroom in the 220 Elm building – High Point Market’s premiere location for Europe-based exhibitors – while introducing new upholstered leather seating such as CLOUD, a streamlined variation of the classic overstuffed leather sofa that consumers love. The company hails from southern Italy’s famed sofa region.
