High Point Market & City of High Point to Present Spring 2016 Green Market Award

HIGH POINT, NC (March 4, 2016) – On Tuesday, March 8, the City of High Point and the High Point Market Authority will present the Green Market Award to New Classic Home Furnishings at their showroom, 135 South Hamilton Street, High Point, NC, 27260, for their proper handling of trash and recycling during the Fall 2015 Market.

A typical Market event generates over 500 tons of cardboard in addition to other recyclable material, all of which is recycled by the City. However, showrooms that comply with city guidelines help the city to ensure that the collection of recycling and trash runs smoothly during a very hectic and busy time for the Public Services Department. New Classic Home Furnishings consistently followed the City’s collection guidelines, contributing to the clean and safe environment that participants have come to expect.

According to High Point Mayor, Bill Bencini, “Business partners like New Classic Home Furnishings are just what the City of High Point needs. By properly handling their trash and recycling during Market last fall, New Classic made it easier for our Public Services Department to keep downtown clean thereby making it a more inviting place to visit and to do business for the thousands of people who come to our city each year.”

The Green Market Award is presented bi-annually, recognizing one showroom after each Market. New Classic Home Furnishings will receive the award at 2 p.m.
